not your average head shot…

People ask me from time to time if I do head-shots.  Well, yes I do.  But they are a bit more glam than your typical gray backdrop version.  I prefer to use natural light and out door backgrounds.  Most of my head-shot clients have been creative professionals and were looking for something a little less traditional.  So, if you need a head-shot, feel free to inquire.  Here’s a little sample from my latest one to give you an idea of my interpretation.

Enough about me…what about the subject in this post?  Stunning, isn’t she?

This is Ann Akins.  Ann and I have been friends since we were two.  In fact, our families were next door neighbors.  Ann, and her twin sister, Alisa, and I used to have lots of fun together and my childhood includes many memories of time spent with them.  They always made me feel like their other sister and I always felt special to be included in such a close group.

Well, now we are all grown up and Ann is pursuing a career in real estate.  She’s an agent for Keller Williams in Frisco and was recently named as a part of their Agent Leadership Council.  It’s a special group and an honor to be chosen.  Ann has years of high end sales experience and her customer service is stellar.  I am so thrilled for her success and I know it will only continue!  If you are looking for a professional realtor, feel free to contact Ann at:  annwakins1@yahoo.com  I know she would be eager to assist you.

Ann, thanks for letting me help you with these images.  You still look as beautiful as ever.

This first location is my favorite.  I love the strong back lighting and how the blurred out winter landscape creates such a warm amber glow.

These next few show a few other locations and backgrounds and different light patterns.  A little more of a classic, conservative approach.  Ann is gorgeous in them all!

Here’s to a great 2009 for you Ann!  I wish you the very best!

generous in spirit…

The family I selected as recipients of my give-away has chosen to stay anonymous in name.  But I can share a few images with you and tell you a little about them.

It was clear that they were kind, warm and giving people from the letter that nominated them.  They have opened their lives and their homes to so many, offering them not only shelter, but ushering them in as part of the family.  Their hospitality has blessed students, Katrina refugees and more.  Even with managing three young children (two of whom have been almost continually sick) and employment uncertainty, this family continues to serve people in their community.  They are a family committed to their faith, each other and their fellow man.

It was a pleasure meeting them and their precious children.  We had a great time playing and dressing up and enjoying a really beautiful Sunday afternoon!

Enjoy a few early images, Mom and Dad!

I like this image so much, that I can’t decide which way to process it…so I am posting two versions!

betty’s cry for help…

The male population in this house is pretty fired up about the way the NFL play off games are going.  Yesterday brought a lot of robot dancing and boy like grunting noises cheering as the Steelers (what self respecting Texan could love such a team?!?!)  clinched a win, moving them closer to the Super Bowl.  Yes, Dad has coached brainwashed the boys into his Cowboy hating, Steeler loving ways.

As for the female population, there is much less enthusiasm.  However, one of us is willing to exploit herself for treats.  Apparently we need to work on improving her self esteem…
