golden Texas sun…

…and beautiful auburn haired senior.  This week-end was absolutely perfect for a photo shoot.  Friday evening I had the pleasure of photographing the niece of a sweet friend of mine.  She will graduate in the spring and head to college in Illinois next fall.  I remember seeing pictures of her when she was VERY YOUNG on her aunty’s desk and I cannot believe she is the mature, poised, pretty young woman in the photos below.  I know her parents are proud of the lady she has become.  I was thrilled that they chose me to capture her at this big milestone in life.  She seems prepared and excited to embrace her future!  Good job, Mom and Dad (and the rest of the Burman clan…)!

I think the images with the gold backlight look like Anthropology ads.  I love how they came out.  So many great looks…these are a little sample.

Lovely light, lovely lady…hillarious dog…wonderful session.

awwww….doggy kisses.

I love this image…a beautiful girl and her beloved dog.  Dogs are not shy in showing affection.  They’ll get you when you least expect it.

Lots more images of this auburn haired senior next post…

beautiful day for a colorful urban session…

I haven’t done an urban session in a while, and I have really missed them.  The colors are so fun and vibrant.  There is such a variety of backdrops and textures.  Urban settings are probably one of my favorite session locations.  Today was a great day to get a little dose of urban culture.  I needed my Deep Ellum fix!

So, my subject today is the son of one of my dearest friends.  His beautiful mama and I have  been friends for several years.  I was so happy to get to photograph him.  He’s a really impressive kid.  He LOVES to cook (although he did not offer me any bacon this morning…), makes stellar grades and loves to play sports.  I cannot believe he is 12 years old already.  What a privilege to photograph him today!

Couldn’t decide what to post…so many choices and looks from this session.  So, here is urban overload.  Enjoy!

Texas/OU week-end…

As a Baylor alum, I am not steeped in the tradition of this red river rivalry.  But, it is really fun to follow along, and I do have a seven year old who already swears allegiance to OU (he still has many years to change his mind…).  Regardless of which team wins, they both have tremendous quarterbacks.  What amazing leadership they show on and off the field.  I love this video.

Thanks for your testimonies, Sam and Colt.

God bless.

(as we walk in) fields of gold…

I know.  You’ll be singing it now.  You can thank me later.

But, it did seem fitting as we literally were in a field of gold wild flowers for this shoot.  Maybe they are blooming weeds.  I don’t know, but they sure do photograph well.  I LOVE the light and the yellow tones of this session.  Plus, the kids are pretty darn cute too.  I really love their brown outfits.
